Discovering what love is one day at a time
Just thinking....every so often I can catch my mind moving onto the tomorrows.... when this happens then...I have to catch myself and REMEMBER that there is so much reward in each moment of every day...simple errands and the people that you run into ...conversations with your husband and the joy you share....the intimate moments with your children...whether it be sharing tears, or a belly laugh over the silliest of noises in not so much the "best" time...rejoicing for the fact of another day...gratitude for the simplest of things...ability to walk, breathe freely, blink, feed ourselves, wool socks for frozen toes...no matter what is going on in our lives...we have so much to rejoice over...o death where is your sting...no matter the things in our lives Christ has provided us with the ultimate victory, and the strength to make it through any circumstance, and His presence...to walk with us....always. This is the day the Lord has made I WILL rejoice and be glad in it.......have you ever just watched your kids...really watched them...how they enjoy the simplest things...how they stop to investigate most everything...and appreciate the little things...I love how my kids remind me how amazingly wonderful our lives are...and how we GET to do this thing called life...TOGETHER!

Have you ever watched any of those shows on HGTV, where they totally remodel someone’s house? For example the person getting the remodel ends up getting this generous walk-in closet as part of the deal. The closet is huge, with drawers, shoe spots, hanging places, jewelry section, places for scarves and hats; well basically, it’s a room of its own.
Once in awhile, you can get things from thrift stores with the tag still on it, but even then there is some sort of flaw, or possibly a stain or tear in the clothing. I like to go to department stores once in awhile and pick up new clothing. It usually has never been worn out of the store.
When I was growing up, my mom was quite the seamstress, and she still is today. The best part about growing up in a house with a mom who loved to sew was that was that my clothing fit perfectly, and no one ever tried on the clothing except for me. My clothing was always brand spankin’ new and it was perfectly fitted to me. Together my mom and I chose the patterns, the fabrics, the threads, buttons and ribbons. Nobody had the clothing that I had; I had my own ”personal tailor”, who loves me. She found things for me that she knew I would love to wear, and created things specifically for me, even if I didn’t wear them all the time. |
AuthorI have been married to my wonderful husband for 29 years. We have two young men ages 25 and 20.. This blog is somewhat of a journal and attempt for me to remind myself of my purpose and invite others to join me in keeping an eternal perspective as we move through each day. Archives
