Discovering what love is one day at a time
We all want to live in such a way that we experience victory in all areas of our lives…and no one really sets out to sabotage themselves, yet we all do it.
We simply make excuses to hide what is really going on in our hearts…we hide behind our unwillingness to change, and we try to cover our inability to do so on our own. We all fall short.

Have you ever heard the phrase, ”bloom where you are planted?“ It makes me think of a flower that has been transplanted into a garden. Sometimes that transplant is rough on the plant and sometimes the place that it is planted does not look like the best spot for the plant to thrive.
So have you ever gone to a potluck? You know where people bring all sorts of foods for a meal; salads, main courses, deserts…and other sometimes unidentifiable mish-mash hodge-podge dishes...that may or may not pique your interest. You get to fill your plate from many of the dishes provided. Sometimes you just have to encourage yourself to try something new…maybe it’s a vegetable dish that you have never seen or maybe it’s just not that appetizing at all… My kids like to skip the main dishes and fill up on all of the deserts. I have a friend whose youngest daughter will try new foods if they will cheer for her. Don’t you love that!? I do! It just makes me think about God’s Word, and how He… by His perfect love for us, His Word, and the help of the Holy Spirit, cheers us on.
Your Word…is marching orders…Your Word dismisses me from things that no longer belong to me, and invites me to enjoy what does…Your Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path…Your Word brings meaning to these days, and refreshment to my spirit…Your Word comforts my heart and brings hope to these circumstances…Your Word strengthens me and gives me courage… Your Word is a message to my heart that says I am not alone; that even if I am physically alone…in these circumstances…in these emotions, Your Spirit and Your Word surrounds the innermost parts of my heart and brings me peace... Your Word, O God, is higher than my thoughts and greater than all of my ways, and lifts my spirit and my soul out of the depths and keeps me from despair... Your Word, O God connects me to others, unites me with them in ways that I could never meet… Your Word, O God is Hope, Truth, Light, Strength, Refreshment, Understanding, Peace, Comfort, Encouragement, Exhortation, Discipline, Direction and Love. Your Word, O God, I cannot bear to be without.
