Discovering what love is one day at a time
I love that the God of the whole universe is a loving God. I love that He has not made us to be robots with a robotic “brain” that does not have the ability to think outside of the box. There is such freedom in the power to make our own decisions. God has given us the liberty of free will; we get to choose and in that place of choice we get to decide each and every moment of our lives whom we will serve…
Free will begs an action, and action is not a passive response, but an active one.

Have you ever felt in your spirit like a horse in a gate waiting for it to be opened…like your spirit is just pressing up to the gate….ready for that split second when it can burst through when the latch is released?....part of that for me…is that do not always know what is next, but I can feel the excitement in my spirit…and I can’t wait to see when it is revealed…weird thing is… it has always been something that I normally wouldn’t choose to do on my own…not something that comes natural, or is easy, but it is a desire that has been birthed in my heart by the Holy Spirit.
As men and women that have put our faith in Jesus Christ we celebrate His resurrection every day…because the Truth of our life is this… We have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer we who live, but Christ who lives within us and the life we now live we live in the flesh we live by faith in the Son of God who loves us and gave His life for us…
We must continuously remind ourselves of this awesome Truth. Life can get pretty messy, and our eyes can be drawn to the circumstantial evidence that surrounds us. Those things that are happening can draw our focus or our attentions away from Christ, and onto the circumstances. It may draw us onto reasoning… and human reasoning is blinded to His supernatural life… I have been thinking about what was written in Luke Chapter 24: The angels said unto them,” Why do you seek the living among the dead?”.... and in verses 23-32 two of them were on the road to Emmaus, they talked together about the things that had happened and reasoned as they conversed…Jesus drew along side of them and walked with them, “ but their eyes were restrained so that they did not know Him”… Their focus was on the death of Christ. They were not holding tight to the promises that He gave them before His departure. Their minds, their thoughts their emotions were stuck holding on to what they could see; they were holding on to their own way of thinking. God’s Word is full of Hope. It is full of life. You will not be able to see Him (life) if you are holding onto human thinking and reasoning… It holds you prisoner and blindfolds you from really truly seeing Christ. So if we get to that place in our circumstance that we cannot see Christ. We cannot grasp hope, or we are offended by our circumstances, we must ask ourselves a question. What am I looking at? What am I discussing in my heart? Are the thoughts in my mind leading me back to His promises? Or am I focusing only on the circumstantial evidence that surrounds me. We must choose to believe Him over how we feel, and even despite what we can see. We do have eyes to see and ears to hear…therefore we must be diligent to guard what has been entrusted to us, and remain in the position to do so. |
AuthorI have been married to my wonderful husband for 29 years. We have two young men ages 25 and 20.. This blog is somewhat of a journal and attempt for me to remind myself of my purpose and invite others to join me in keeping an eternal perspective as we move through each day. Archives
