Discovering what love is one day at a time
Do you ever think about the Scripture that says that we are to be rooted and grounded in love?
A root is a means of anchorage and support, it’s something that is an origin or source, it is the essential core (the heart of), and it synonymously is a fountain, wellspring, and seedbed.

I read a quote by Noah Webster, which said this:
“The virtues of men are of more consequence to society than their abilities: and for this reason the heart should be cultivated with more assiduity than the head.” I ran across something somebody wrote that said if you don’t like the way a standard is written reinterpret it for yourself…to your liking, for your comfort. Honestly, after reading this persons blog, I am having a hard time believing he wasn’t serious. Which got me to thinking about life…and if there is any area in my life that I lean that way.
Unconditional love is a hard concept to grasp, especially in a world that is based on conditions…If you don’t pay your rent, you get booted out…if you don’t work, you do not have money for food… In order to physically live and survive in this world you have to meet certain conditions of the world we live in to be successful.
Unconditional love is just … no conditions. Love because… Have you ever shined a flashlight to find your way in the dark…or turned on a light in a room that was pitch black…to find that someone was in there…and they were not happy to have you turn on the light…in fact their response was not pleasing to the ear? Have you ever been the recipient of the flashlight in the eye…or the overhead light while you were sleeping? I have never heard when I am sleeping,”Hey, can I turn the light on?” So you can relate? |
AuthorI have been married to my wonderful husband for 29 years. We have two young men ages 25 and 20.. This blog is somewhat of a journal and attempt for me to remind myself of my purpose and invite others to join me in keeping an eternal perspective as we move through each day. Archives
